Features of the Ghaychak instrument

The Ghaychak consists of four general parts: the resonant bowl, the handle, the strings, and the bow. The resonant bowl is very similar to the violin and is pear-shaped (inverted pear means the upper part is larger than the lower part) with the difference that, unlike the flat back of the violin, the back of the resonant bowl in Ghaychak has an arc and hollow shape. The bowl is made of walnut or mulberry tree. The string is halfway up the resonant bowl and the other half is on top of it. The number of strings, like a violin, is four and they are made of metal. The bow, like the violin bow, is made of horse hair. In general, the length of the instrument is about 50 cm.
